Kadhalar Dhinam

Kadhalar Dhinam meaning Lovers Day or Valentines Day (English) is a 1999 Tamil film directed by Kathir. This film is based upon love which started upon an internet chatroom and how it developed. The movie stars Kunal, Sonali Bendre, Nassar, Manivannan, Goundamani, Rambha and Chinni Jayanth. This film was also known as the transition film between the 20th Century and the 21st Century.Produced by A.M. Rathnam and the music was composed by A.R. Rahman. The film was released April 1999 and was a box-office record breaker.

Plot

Raja Kunal is from a poor family and gains admission for an MBA program at the Ramachandra College in Mumbai with the help of the college chairman, Ramachandra (Nassar). Raja met Roja (Sonali Bendre) through the Internet. Raja and Roja started loving each other. However, a series of accidents prevented Raja and Roja from expressing their feelings to each other. One day when Raja came to express his love, he found out that Roja was the daughter of Ramachandra who had decided to marry his daughter into a rich family. Roja drank poison in an attempt to commit suicide but she was rescued by her father. He then found out that Raja and Roja were in love. Then he married his daughter Roja to Raja.
